Profession of Faith
The Congregational Recension — for corporate recitation and profession at reception
"But I confess this to you: I worship the God of our fathers according to the Way which they call a sect, believing everything that is laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets."
"Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and hold fast to the faith of Yeshua."
This Profession is made after the pattern Paul gave under Roman interrogation, standing trial and refusing to soften a single article. That confession has three parts and no more: the God of the fathers, the Way, and everything written in the Law and the Prophets. Hegesippus found the same threefold rule still standing in every succession and in every city he visited a century later — the Law, the Prophets, and the Master.
Set Your Hand to It
Having heard this Profession read in full, and confessing it without reservation before YHWH and before the witnesses of this assembly, I set my hand to it and take upon myself the yoke of the Written Torah and the faith of Yeshua the Messiah.
